The DOD website evidently had an announcement of a drill that simulates an EMP situation for November 4, 2017. Because of the timing in itself, with Antifa planning nationwide protests/attacks on this very date, someone in the independent media reported it, it went viral, and it seems that it was taken out of context. We all hope he is correct on this one.
The DOD released a statement, as people were calling and writing in, asking if they would be without power. Naturally many families, businesses, hospitals etc., would be affected by it.
As a person who wants to be prepared myself, I had questions … such as… Will they simulate an EMP and shut communication or computers down and blame another country such as North Korea, in light of recent events? Was it a “Bank Holiday”?
When I dug deeper I came across the press release in which Paul English, Army MARS program manger assured people that this was not going to be a power outage and that they indeed have this drill often, working with ARRL (radio operators) etc., to strengthen their abilities in the event of such an attack.
Below is a copy of his statement:
There is also a link to the ARRL website below, describing the simulated drills that they have engaged in, just like this one, on a yearly basis:
I hope that this will clarify the fact that it is indeed a simulated drill, but nothing new.
Be prepared always, as we in the independent media have stressed, along with DHS, due to weather patterns, possible terror attacks within the U.S. etc.
